Ganapati Sthapati.

S. Shanmugam Sthapati
A devoted and dedicated student of Dr. Sthapati, Mr. S. Shanmugam Sthapati has been in association with him from the age of 6. After completing the Diploma in traditional architecture and sculpture from “The College of Architecture and Sculpture”, Mamallapuram, in the year ---------, he started his practice as a Sthapati. He has handled a number of projects under the guidance of Dr. Sthapati. Among which the following works are his best contributions to the Mayonic Architecture.

 

M. Palanisamy Sthapati
Son of Sri. S. Manickam Achari, a sculptor, Mr. Palanisamy Sthapati inspired by his father’s works entered into the field of traditional architecture at a young age. After completing the Bachelor’s degree in Temple Architecture from “The college of Architecture and Sculpture”, Mamallapuram in the year 1983, he joined as an executive sthapati in our organization -“V. Ganapati Sthapati & Associates”. Under the tutelage of Dr. Sthapati, Mr. Palanisamy Sthapati has worked on many projects within India and abroad. He is well known for his expertise in execution and work extraction from shilpis at work site. Best of his works are listed below.

 

S. Santhana Krishnan Sthapati
Eldest son of Sri.S. Shanmugam Sthapati, Mr. Santhana Krishnan follows the foot steps of his father and continues to be a Temple Architect. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Temple Architecture from “The college of Architecture and Sculpture”, Mamallapuram in the year 1998 after which his interests deepened in exploring the intricate science of Vaastu shastra. For which he studied M.A., M.Phil in Sanskrit Language from “Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College”, Chennai. Dr. Sthapati began to extract work from him while he was in college itself which helped Santhana Krishnan to gain practical experience at an early stage. Being associated with a scholarly person like Dr. Sthapati, Santhana Krishnan’s research activities in the ancient Texts of Ainthiram and Pranava Vedam widened. He began to assist Dr. Sthapati in his research works and has written articles related to Ainthiram. Evidences of information from MAYAN’s Ainthiram and Pranava Vedam were explored and identified in Tholkaapiyar’s “Tholkappiyam” and Ramalinga Adigalaar’s “Thiruvarutpa” by him, which gained appreciation among scholars. His search for more knowledge on Mayonic science continues.
In the mean time his contribution to the Mayonic architecture under the guidance of Dr. Sthapati is awe inspiring. His primary focus is on Stone architecture and his first field experience began in the stone marking of 10 elephants for the illustrious project of Dr. Sthapati’s “Ayyan Thiruvalluvar Statue” which stands in the midst of sea in Kanyakumari where the three oceans meet. Some of his major projects are listed below. His next work is the Gurunathar Temple at Reddiapatti, south of Tamilnadu which is again a stone temple renovation project that was primarily constructed in cement and steel by Dr.V.Ganapati Sthapati. The temple is nearing completion and is to be consecrated shortly. This project has awarded the title of “Sirpa Kala Arasar” for Sthapati Santhana Krishnan for his tremendous contribution in the making of this massive temple in stone.

 

Sthapati P. MallaiRajan
Youngest Sthapati of our team, Sthapati P. MallaiRajan was born to a highly artistic sculptor and a National award winner Sri. Perumal Sthapati. His interest in the Traditional art developed from childhood as he watched his Father sculpting in the work yard. He completed his Bachelor of Technology in Traditional Architecture from “The college of Architecture and Sculpture”, Mamallapuram in the year 2002. His creative skills in sculpting and architecture were recognized by Dr. Sthapati who eventually appointed Mr. Mallai rajan as an assistant Sthapati. He assists his father in sculpting and one of his major contributions was during the creation of the master piece statues for handicrafts board.
His exceptional talents in designing of Temples using AUTOCAD have been very helpful for the senior Sthapatis to get timely scaled drawings that work out meticulously during the execution. He is gradually gaining site experience as well.

 

Architect Krithika. K
A contemporary architect whose interest in the Traditional Indian architecture developed gradually during her periodical visits with Dr. Ganapati Sthapati while receiving the guidance for her final year thesis project - “Vedic Village” (a topic that focused upon the application of Traditional Vaastu principles in designing of buildings that will be suitable for today’s life style). After completing the Bachelor’s Degree of Architecture from “Hindustan College of Engineering” – Madras University in the academic year 1999, Ms. Krithika decided to learn more on Vaastu Shastra and joined as an Architect in Dr. Sthapati’s organization. She has designed a number of Vaastu buildings like residences, schools, hospitals, factories, Religious and Monumental buildings, etc. under the tutelage of Dr. Sthapati. By blending traditional vaastu grammar with modern space concepts, Krithika has been successful in creating wonderful structures.
Ms. Krithika assists Dr. Sthapati in his research works and her illustrations appear in most of the books authored by Dr. Sthapati. She also assists in delivering lectures for foreign delegates during the annual workshops on vaastu shastra conducted by Dr. Sthapati. Her vaastu consultation services are spread worldwide.
